BMW Motorrad has launched the 2024 BMW S 1000 XR in India. It has been launched at a price of Rs 22.5 lakh (ex-showroom). In this segment, the BMW S 1000 XR will compete with the Ducati Multistrada V4. Talking about its updates, the BMW S 1000 XR features several cosmetic enhancements, including new side panels at the rear, a body-coloured front fender, a redesigned seat, new colour options and graphics.

BMW S 1000 XR - Engine
Talking about its engine, the S 1000 XR is powered by a re-engineered 999 cc inline-four engine. This engine produces a power output of 168 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a bi-directional quickshifter. Riders can choose from four riding modes - Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro. The motorcycle has a top speed of 253 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.25 seconds.
BMW S 1000 XR - Hardware
For braking, the S 1000 XR is equipped with a 320 mm twin-disc setup at the front and a 220 mm single disc at the rear. Standard features on this sport tourer include lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, cruise control and wheelie control. The new model offers a seat height of 850 mm, which can be adjusted with optional equipment such as a low suspension and low seat. The seat design has been improved to provide more space in terms of length and width.

BMW S 1000 XR - M Package
Additionally, BMW offers an optional M package for further customisation. This package includes exclusive features such as the Light white/M Motorsport paintwork, M Sport seat, M lightweight battery, M forged wheels, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, sports silencer, tinted sport windscreen and a black fuel filler cap.
