Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia RS 457 at India Bike Week 2023. Post its launch, speculation is floating around that Aprilia is in the works to launch a naked version of the RS 457 and is likely to be called the Tuono 457. Marco Lambri, Piaggio's head of design, hinted at this possibility, however, there is no official confirmation about the same.

It is common for manufacturers to use successful platforms for expanding their product range, and Aprilia has a track record of doing exactly that. The RSV4 and Tuono V4 along with the RS 660, Tuono 660 and Tuareg 660 are examples of models sharing platforms. Marco Lambri's response when asked about a Tuono 45 was “Why not? Why not.”

If Aprilia introduces the Tuono 457 come, it's anticipated to showcase unique ergonomics in contrast to the RS model with a sleek handlebar and a more streamlined body design. The 457cc parallel-twin engine is likely to remain mostly unchanged and is expected to generate a power output of approximately 50 bhp. If it is produced, the Tuono 457 will be manufactured alongside the RS 457 at Aprilia's Baramati plant in India. The Aprilia Tuono 457 will be a compelling choice in the sub-Rs. 4 lakh category.

Although the production of the Tuono 457 is still in speculation, the intriguing comments from Marco Lambri and Aprilia's track record of expanding platforms is what has kept the conversation going. Aprilia RS 457 has been launched at a premium price of Rs. 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom), suggesting the possibility of a more budget-friendly Tuono 457 aimed at a wider audience. Previously, Aprilia has positioned Tuono models at a more accessible price point compared to their fully faired counterparts in global markets.
