BMW 740d M Sport India Launch: BMW India has launched the all-new BMW 740d M Sport in the country adding another flagship to its M series fleet in India. Earlier in the day, BMW launched the i7 M70 XDrive and now the BMW 740d M Sport. The BMW 740d M Sport will be locally manufactured in India at BMW’s manufacturing plant in Chennai, whereas, the i7 M70 XDrive will be sold as a CBU unit. The BMW 740d M Sport has been launched with a price tag of Rs 1.81 crore (ex-showroom). Both 740d M Sport and i7 M70 XDrive will be available at the dealerships from today.
BMW 740d M Sport - Design
In terms of design, the BMW 740d M Sport is adorned with BMW Crystal lights and Swarovski crystals on the LED DRLs along with the signature BMW illuminated kidney grille on the front fascia with LED headlights. The interior of the 740d M Sport features Merino leather finishing which can be customised in different shades like the Amarone, Tartufo, Mocha, Black and Smoke White. M-specific elements incorporated in the appearance of the car include side skirts, illuminated door sills, black exterior mirrors, brake callipers in blue, rear spoiler and 21-inch alloy wheels.
BMW 740d M Sport - Features
Features distinguishing the BMW 740d M Sport apart are M Sport design package, automatic tailgate, comfort access system, soft-close function for the doors, four-zone climate control, and a 31.3-inch movie screen screen for the rear seat passengers. Additionally, the 740d M Sport is equipped with an advanced touchscreen infotainment system that can be controlled via voice commands and gestures. Driver assistance features include Cruise Control, Attentiveness Assistant, Reversing Assistant and Parking Assistant Professional with remote parking via smartphone.
BMW 740d M Sport - Engine
Powering the 740d M Sport is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbocharged diesel engine that produces a 282 bhp of power and 650 Nm of torque. BMW has stated that this engine helps the 740d M Sport in accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6 seconds and achieving a top speed of 250 km/h.
