BMW i7 M70 XDrive India Launch: German automobile giant BMW on Thursday launched the M variant of its all-electric sedan, i7. With the launch, the i7 M70 xDrive became the first all-electric M Performance car launched by BMW in India. The BMW i7 M70 xDrive has been priced at Rs 2.50 crore (ex-showroom) and is the brand’s most powerful electric car in its line up. 

BMW i7 M70 XDrive - Design 

Talking about the design of the BMW i7 M70 XDrive, it gets the signature BMW illuminated front grille with vertical slats, split LED headlamps with DRLs, flush door handles, slim LED tail lamps, and a dual-tone paint job on the outside. The M logo has been engraved on the grille, side skirts, front side panels, ORVMs, and rear spoiler. Also, the i7 M70 XDrive features 21-inch M light-alloy wheels.  

BMW i7 M70 XDrive - Interior 

Moving inside of the BMW i7 M70 XDrive, it gets noticeable features like a dual-touchscreen infotainment and instrument cluster, multi-zone climate control, gesture control, wireless charger, six airbags, Bowers and Wilkins Diamond music system with 36 speakers, BMW 31.3-inch retractable movie screen with 8K resolution for the rear passengers and 5.5-inch touchscreen control panels on rear doors. The i7 M70 XDrive also gets additional M-specific interior upgrades like the illuminated M door sills, M Merino Leather trim in Black or Atlas Grey upholstery, M leather steering wheel and M-specific footrest. The interior of the car gets a Piano Black theme with silver stitching. 

BMW i7 M70 XDrive - Powertrain 

The BMW i7 M70 XDrive’s powertrain configuration comprises two motors, one at the front axle and one at the rear. The front axle motor generates 254 bhp of power and the rear axle motor generates 483 bhp of power. Both the motors deliver a combined output of 657 bhp and 1,015 Nm of torque. The torque demand has the capability to go up to 1,110 Nm briefly when using the M Launch Control and M Sport Boost functionalities along with an all-wheel drive system. With these performance figures, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and can achieve a top-speed of 250 km/h that has been electronically regulated. Talking about the driving range and battery pack equipped in the car, it gets a 101.7kWh battery unit that can deliver a claimed range of 560 km.
