German manufacturer BMW Motorrad has unveiled the next generation of its flagship adventure bike which is now the R 1300 GS. The R 1300 GS features design modifications and gets a new engine and is expected to be launched in India by next year. The previous generation of the R 1300 GS, which is the R 1250 GS is currently sold at Rs 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom), so it is fair to assume that the R 1300 GS will be priced more than that. 

BMW R 1300 GS - Design 

Starting with its design, the BMW G 1300 GS showcases a redesigned modern appearance. The most notable feature is a new X-shaped LED headlight, replacing the previous asymmetrical design. BMW Motorrad has managed to shed about 12 kg weight compared to the previous model, enhancing its agility.

BMW R 1300 GS - Engine 

Under the hood, a newly developed 1,300 cc boxer twin engine powers the motorcycle, delivering an impressive 145 bhp and 149 Nm of torque. This is the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever produced boasting an 11 bhp increase in power and 6 Nm more torque. The 6-speed gearbox is precisely positioned beneath the engine for a more compact overall package.

BMW R 1300 GS - Additional Features 

The motorcycle offers four standard riding modes: 'Rain' and 'Road' for different road conditions, 'Eco' to increase fuel efficiency and an 'Enduro' mode tailored for off-road adventures. Additional 'Pro' modes are also available. Standard features include a Bluetooth-equipped TFT colour display, adjustable windscreen, and LED headlight (with optional cornering function). Furthermore, buyers can also opt for vehicle height adjustment, which automatically adjusts the height of the motorcycle depending on the conditions along with a handlebar riser as well.

BMW Motorrad has included a range of features such as Full Integral ABS Pro, Engine drag torque control, dynamic brake assist, ride-off assistant, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Cruise Control, USB socket, and an additional 12 V outlet. Optional equipment includes Riding Assistant with Active Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning, and Lane Change Warning for added safety and convenience.
