Ford Endeavour 2024 Spotted In Chennai: American automobile giant Ford Motors is apparently planning to re-enter the Indian automotive industry. Fuelling these speculations, the new-generation Ford Endeavour SUV, known as the Everest in some markets, has been spotted in India, in Chennai for the first time. The spotted model is the Ford Everest Trend which is the entry-level variant in countries like Thailand and Australia.

This new Ford Endeavour for the Indian market marks a significant update and it is anticipated that it could arrive sooner than expected, possibly before 2025. Ford may initially import completely built-up units to India, bypassing the need for immediate local assembly and utilising Ford’s Chennai plant to prepare for future production. Since the previous Endeavour shared some components with the new model, retooling the factory should be relatively convenient. Despite the possibility of the new Endeavour being imported as a CBU unit, Ford aims to keep the new Endeavour's pricing competitive, especially compared to its main rival, the Toyota Fortuner, which now reaches around Rs 60 lakh for top variants in some states.

In other international markets, the Ford Everest offers a range of diesel engines, including 2.0 and 3.0-litre options, along with 4x2 and 4x4 powertrain choices on select variants. It boasts advanced safety and technology features, highlighted by large infotainment and instrument screens up to 12.4 inches, along with nine airbags on higher-end variants.

Ford's comeback strategy in India, including the launch details of the new Endeavour SUV, is expected to be disclosed in the coming months. Apart from the Endeavour, it is rumoured that Ford is planning to bring two new models in the Indian market - Mustang Mach-e and a compact SUV model which is currently not sold in any Ford market. Recent trademarks and patents by the US based manufacturer have fueled these rumours and we are all awaiting official information from Ford Motors.
