Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are planning to strengthen their partnership in India to introduce a wider range of products, according to a recent ET report. Following the success of the X440, both companies are considering bringing more international models to the Indian market and possibly starting local production for domestic and export purposes.

The report indicates that Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp are close to finalising an expanded agreement. This new collaboration could see the introduction of additional global products in India and the commencement of local production for some models. Currently, both companies benefit from their joint production of the Harley-Davidson X440 and the Hero MotoCorp Maverick 440 at Hero’s facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan. 

The Hero Maverick 440 is priced between Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 2.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It features a 440 cc single-cylinder air-cooled petrol engine that produces a power output of 27 bhp and 36 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed transmission. The Maverick 440 is available in three trims - Base, Mid and Top.

On the other hand, the Harley-Davidson X440 is priced between Rs 2.39 lakh and Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in three variants - X440 Denim, X440 Vivid and X440 S. This model is powered by a 440 cc single-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing a power output of 27 bhp and 38 Nm of torque and also features a 6-speed gearbox.

These two motorcycles are currently produced under the existing agreement between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp. The potential renewal and expansion of this collaboration could open up new segments in the Indian market.
