Hero MotoCorp has introduced its upcoming flagship motorcycle which will officially bear the name 'Mavrick. Hero MotoCorp recently trademarked two names - Mavrick and Hurikan, creating rumours about the name of the upcoming Hero flagship motorcycle. However, the company has now confirmed that the Hero Mavrick 440 will be officially launched in India. It will be developed on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440. The Hero Mavrick X440 is set to be launched in the Indian market on January 23, 2024.

Hero Mavrick 440 - Engine Specs
In 2023, Harley-Davidson introduced its most budget-friendly motorcycle,teh X400 which was co-developed with Hero MotoCorp. The Hero Mavrick will share the same core structure as the Harley-Davidson X440 like the trellis frame and the 440cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Whether the Hero Mavrick 440 will deliver the same engine specifications as the Harley X440 is yet to be known. The X440's 440 cc engine delivers 27 bhp and 38 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox. Hero is likely to tune the engine and gearing to align with the requirements of the Mavrick 440.
Hero Mavrick 440 - Exterior, Hardware and Features
Additionally, it will feature various modifications to distinguish it from its American counterpart. Unlike the Harley X440, Hero Mavrick will be equipped with traditional telescopic front forks instead of USD forks. The overall design of the Mavrick will be more contemporary rather than the retro style of the X440. It will feature a headlamp unit with the iconic H-shaped LED DRL seen on new Hero models. The bike is expected to sport 17-inch alloy wheels at both the front and rear, unlike the 19-inch front wheel on the X440. Additionally, the Harley-Davidson X440 is a roadster and the upcoming Mavrick will be positioned as a streetfighter.

In addition to this, it is expected that the fuel tank will also be redesigned with tank extensions and a revamped tail section. In terms of features, it is likely that the Hero Mavrick will also get Bluetooth connectivity and connected features through smartphone integration, like the X440.
