Bestselling Cars in India 2025 August: With 7 out of 10 bestselling models in July 2025's sales charts, Maruti Suzuki has now secured eight out of 10 spots, completely dominating the last month's sales charts. While Hyundai's bestselling Creta SUV has slipped to the third position from the second in July 2025, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MUV has emerged as the highest-selling vehicle, with 18,445 units (Auto Punditz). As for the Wagon R, the tall boy continues to hold fourth spot in the list. Here's a close look at the top 10 bestselling cars in India in August 2025:

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (18,445 units)

With 18,445 units, the Ertiga MUV has made it to the number 1 position. However, it recorded a 1 per cent year-on-year (YoY) decrease compared to the same period last year (August 2024: 18,580 units). Priced between Rs 9.12 lakh and Rs 13.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the MUV comes standard with 6 airbags. It gets petrol and CNG options, with their respective gearboxes. The Ertiga is a practical 7-seat MUV with enough cabin space. 

Maruti Suzuki Dzire (16,509 units)

Next on the list is the Dzire (4th gen) sedan with 16,509 units, representing a 55 per cent YoY increase over August 2024. Launched in November last year, the sedan is priced from Rs 6.84 lakh to Rs 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Standard features on cars include six airbags, ESP, and hill-start assist. While the sedan lacks a camera-based ADAS suite, it has secured a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. 

Hyundai Creta (15,924 units)

The Creta continues to be Hyundai's bestselling SUV, with 15,924 units sold last month. However, Hyundai delivered 16,898 units to buyers in July 2025, helping the Creta reach the second spot. Hyundai sells ICE and electric versions of the Creta. While the former has marked 10 years in the market with King and Knight Editions, the latter was launched in January 2025. Despite being a relatively new launch, the Creta Electric has recently added three new variants and the Knight Edition to its line-up.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R (14,552 units)

The hatchback retains the fourth spot with 14,552 units. Much of the credit goes to the vehicle being roomy, feature-packed, and fuel-efficient. The Wagon R reflects Suzuki's expertise in making easy-to-use cars that put riders first, and ranges from Rs 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Tata Nexon (14,004 units)

Tata's Nexon has jumped from the ninth spot in July 2025 to the fifth spot last month. With 14,004 units sold, the Nexon is the only Tata model to make it to the top 10. The SUV comes with a comprehensive range of powertrains – petrol-MT, petrol-AMT, petrol-DCT, diesel-MT, diesel-AMT, CNG-MT, and all-electric. Starting from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom), the Nexon is one of the safest cars on Indian roads, having a 5-star safety rating from both the Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza (13,620 units)

The company's Arena model is powered by a single 1.5-litre petrol engine, with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, catering to a diverse set of car buyers. In August 2025's sales charts, the Brezza is in the sixth position with 13,620 units. The model is known for being reliable, practical, and spacious. It is priced from Rs 8.69 lakh to Rs 13.98 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki Baleno (12,549 units)

With 12,549 units, the Baleno hatchback has gone from being in the tenth spot to the seventh. Rivalling the Tata Altroz, the Baleno is a well-rounded hatchback with a roomy cabin, enhanced ride quality, an advanced infotainment system, and a 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine (with MT or AT). It is a Nexa model costing Rs 6.74 lakh-9.96 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Maruti Suzuki Fronx (12,422 units)

The Fronx, which has secured the eighth spot with 12,422 units, is the first made-in-India SUV from the brand to be exported to the Japanese market. Launched in 2023, the compact SUV has crossed the 5 lakh-unit production milestone in 28 months since the start of production, thanks to its bold styling, advanced tech, and a turbo-petrol engine. The SUV is priced in the Rs 7.59 lakh-Rs 13.11 lakh (ex-showroom) range. 

Maruti Suzuki Swift (12,385 units)

With sales of 12,385 units, the Swift is the third hatchback from Maruti Suzuki to feature in the list. Priced from Rs 6.49 lakh to Rs 9.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Swift is a fun-to-drive car with a light steering and a fuel-efficient engine.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco (10,785 units)

Priced at Rs 5.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the Eeco is a 6-seater van with 6 airbags as standard. The van also gets three-point seatbelts for all passengers, seatbelt reminders, and anti-lock brakes. It is offered in petrol and CNG variants.
