EV Bharat Conclave And Awards 2026:  The Electric Vehicle market in India has been growing rapidly over the past few years. A total of 1.76 lakh units of electric cars were sold in India in 2025, and the segment registered a 77 per cent growth year-on-year. People are showing interest towards feature-packed electric SUVs, MPVs, and new launches.

Electric cars are more cost-friendly than the ICE vehicles, they are eco-friendly, and they also attract rebates/incentives from the central and state governments. All of these reasons are attracting more and more people towards the electric vehicle segment.

In 2024, the electric vehicles' share was only 7.6 per cent of the total vehicle sales, and the government has a goal of increasing the EVs’ share up to 30 per cent by the year 2030. However, experts suggest that factors such as the lack of charging infrastructure and awareness pose significant challenges to the government’s goal. The Indian government is constantly making efforts to solve such challenges by promoting domestic manufacturing through PLI schemes and encouraging private investment to improve the charging infrastructure.
