Jaguar EV Debut Delay: The Jaguar electric GT (Grand Tourer), the British automaker's first 4-door electric sedan, has been delayed until 2026, according to an interview with Jaguar's Managing Director, Rawdon Glover, in ABC News. The electric GT, previewed by the Type 00 Concept in December 2024, was initially set to debut in late 2025.
Jaguar Electric GT: Why Its Debut Pushed Back?
Jaguar did not mention the reason for pushing the official reveal to 2026, but we cannot rule out a major cyberattack on Jaguar's systems, which compelled the company to shut down production lines. It's also possible that the GT might be under development, as prototypes of the all-electric Jaguar model have been spotted testing on multiple occasions, most recently at Nürburgring.
According to Glover, the British automaker will begin accepting orders shortly after the GT's global debut, with deliveries to follow soon after that.

Jaguar Electric GT: Key Details
Jaguar refuses to reveal specifics, but a few things have been made clear – the upcoming electric GT will be the 'most powerful Jaguar ever' and will feature the company's new electric architecture. The maximum driving range is expected to be 692km. Owners could add about 322km in 15 minutes, using a DC fast charger. Market reports suggest that the new GT will be priced around USD 130,000 (roughly Rs 1.08 crore).
Jaguar claims that the GT will 'drive really well', while also adding, 'There aren’t many EVs that are really engaging to drive.' It will borrow heavily from the concept car, featuring a minimalist yet distinctive styling. The production-spec Type 00 is expected to be initially launched in North America in 2026, followed by the European market.
