Kia Seltos CVT Variant Recalled: South Korean automaker Kia has initiated a voluntary recall affecting 4,358 units of the Seltos SUV in the country. The recall has been specifically issued for the variants with CVT transmission of the Seltos SUV. This problem has been observed from a potential error in the electronic oil pump controller. Kia India has notified the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) about this voluntary recall.

The affected Kia Seltos units were manufactured between February 28 and July 13, 2023. The issue with the electronic oil pump controller could impact the performance of the CVT gearbox's electronic oil pump. Kia is proactively reaching out to customers affected by the recall and will replace the faulty component free of charge at its service centers nationwide. It's important to note that this recall only affects the CVT variant, and other engine transmission options remain unaffected. Customers who own the affected Kia Seltos CVT can contact dealerships to schedule an appointment or call the Kia call center for further assistance.
The Kia Seltos SUV with the CVT transmission is available with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. In terms of power output, this variant produces a power output of 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. The CVT transmission option is exclusively available with the HTX variant of the Kia Seltos SUV. The Kia Seltos HTX is available in India at a price of Rs 16.66 lakh (ex-showroom). Talking about the features, the Kia Seltos SUV is equipped with a dual 10.25-inch display for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, an air purifier, ambient lighting, LED sound mood lighting, a heads-up display and ventilated front seats.
