Kia Syros EV Range:  The Kia Syros EV has been unveiled ahead of its official launch in the Indian market. The brand has also announced the commencement of bookings for the electric iteration of the Syros, and the token amount has been set at Rs 25,000. Notably, the prototypes of the Syros EV were spied on several occasions in the country, and another test mule was recently spied undisguised for the first time. Let’s take a look at the design, features, range, and specs of the newly unveiled Kia Syros EV.

Kia Syros EV: Design

The Kia Syros EV carries the same silhouette as the ICE version of the crossover SUV. However, subtle differences and design elements set it apart from the latter. The front fascia now includes a slimmer grille and a revised bumper. The electric iteration features the same vertical ICE cube LED headlamps and body coloured trim on the bumper as the ICE model. The side profile and the rear also remain completely identical to the ICE version, and the only change can be spotted in the form of an EV badge on the tailgate.

Kia Syros EV: Features

The Kia Syros EV comes equipped with the first-in-segment trinity panoramic display, which comprises a 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen-based infotainment system, and a 5-inch climate control interface. The infotainment system also gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and the electric iteration of the SUV gets a premium Harmon Kardon 8-speaker sound system and a wireless smartphone charger. Additional features offered with the Syros EV include a 4-way electrically powered driver’s seat, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient mood lighting with LED footwell lamps at the front, a smart dashcam with dual camera, rear door sunshade and curtains, multiple USB Type-C charging ports, and a 16-litre frunk.

Kia Syros EV: Range & Specs

As anticipated, the Kia Syros EV comes equipped with options of either a 42 kWh or a 51.4 kWh battery pack. The larger battery pack has an ARAI-claimed range of up to 526 kilometres, whereas the smaller battery pack gets an MIDC-claimed range of up to 443 kilometres. The Syros EV supports DC fast charging of up to 100 kW, which enables it to be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in just 39 minutes. The Syros EV also comes equipped with a 10.8 kW AC charging capability. The Syros EV is built on the brand’s K1 platform, and it gets a nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery. The powertrain on the Kia Syros EV can generate a peak power output of up to 168 hp, and it can sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 8.1 seconds. The battery pack on the Syros EV is IP67-certified, and it also gets a liquid-cooled thermal management system for Indian weather conditions.
