KTM Recall: KTM India has initiated a voluntary recall campaign for select models in its 390 lineup for a potential engine-stalling concern. The recall affects the MY2024-26 KTM 390 Duke, as well as the MY2025-26 KTM 390 Enduro R, 390 SMC R, 390 Adventure, 390 Adventure R, and 390 Adventure X models. It is important to note that the latest KTM recall applies categorically to bikes sold in international markets, even though these models are manufactured in India.

KTM Recall: Reason Explained

KTM conducted internal quality testing, which revealed a condition that, in rare cases, could cause the engine to stall at low rpms or during deceleration. And that could lead to safety hazards during urban commuting and off-road touring, as sudden engine stalling may cause loss of balance, especially when making U-turns.

KTM Recall: Free of Cost Software Upgrade Available

To address the matter, KTM will notify affected customers to visit their dealer network for a complimentary update to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) software. The update will be carried out free of charge. And for that, no mechanical modifications are needed. The update, according to the Austrian company, not just reduces the risk of engine stalling, but also 'improves rideability with improved low-end torque and increased engine stability'.
