Mercedes Benz GLE SUV Facelift Launched In India At Rs 96 Lakh; Check Engine Details, Other Specifications Here

Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE facelift on Thursday in India. The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV was launched for global markets earlier this year. The German manufacturer will also be launching the Mercedes-Benz C 43 AMG today for the Indian market. The GLE SUV facelift is available in three variants - GLE 450 4 MATIC, GLE 300d 4 MATIC and GLE 450d 4 MATIC. 

Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV - Price 

The entry-level variant of the GLE, the 300 d 4 MATIC is available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 96.4 lakh. The GLE 450 4 MATIC is priced at Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom) and the GLE 450d 4 MATIC is available at a price of Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom) in India. The GLE SUV has been positioned between the GLC and the GLS models in Mercedes-Benz’s SUV line-up in India. 

Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV - Powertrain 

Talking about the powertrain details of the GLE SUV, it will offer two engine options - petrol and diesel. All the powertrains equipped in the Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV are paired to a 48V mild-hybrid system that help in producing an additional 20 bhp and 200 Nm in their outputs. 

GLE 300d 4 MATIC - The 300d 4 MATIC variant is equipped with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that can produce 269 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. 

GLE 450 4 MATIC - The 450 4 MATIC variant is powered by a six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that is tuned to produce a power output of 381 bhp and 500 Nm of torque.  

GLE 450d 4 MATIC - The 450d 4 MATIC variant is powered by a six-cylinder diesel engine that generates 367 bhp and 750 Nm of torque. 

The mild-hybrid powertrain enhances the power output of these engines in addition to the figures mentioned above. 

Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV - Exterior and Interior

In terms of exterior design, the GLE SUV gets updates like a new front bumper, new LED headlights, single-slat grille, redesigned tail lights and a new rear bumper as well. The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV is available in various colour scheme options like Polar White, High-Tech Silver, Selenite Grey, Obsidian Black and Blue. 

Moving inside the GLE SUV facelift, it boasts a multi-function steering wheel, chrome-finished AC vents, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, a 12.3-inch digital cluster, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, USB Type C ports and a 360-degree view camera. Additionally, the top-spec GLE 450 and 450d get air suspension. 

Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV - Rivals 

The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV has been launched at a starting price of Rs 96.4 lakh that goes up to Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom). Within this price range, the GLE SUV is poised to compete with other SUV models in the segment like BMW X5, Audi Q7, Range Rover Velar and Volvo XC90 in the Indian market.
