Citroen Basalt Vision SUV: In March 2024, Citroen had revealed its concept car, the Basalt Vision, which, according to the company, combines 'the dynamism of a coupe with the robustness of an SUV'. Fast forward to August 2024, the production-spec Basalt Vision made its way to the Indian market as Citroen's fourth model under the C-Cubed programme. And now—almost over a year later—we are introduced to the sporty version of the Basalt Vision concept SUV, which features the same striking yellow exterior paint as the one debuted earlier, but gets sporty design elements over the original concept car.

New Citroen Basalt Vision Concept: What's Changed?

Compared to the original concept from 2024, the new Basalt Vision looks sharper and, thanks to the updated suspension setup, features a hunkered stance. The changes, including redesigned bumpers, red brake callipers, sporty chrome-finished alloy wheels, black body cladding, dark-coloured skid plates, dual exhaust outlets, and 'Vision' badging on the fenders, nod to sportiness.

New Citroen Basalt Vision Concept: What to Expect?

Interior details are under wraps, but expect the vehicle to get dual displays, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, connected car tech, keyless entry, wireless mirroring, and ambient lighting. Safety-wise, it could get a 360-degree camera, TPMS, hill-hold assist, six airbags, a rear parking camera, and ADAS.

Having said that, the new Basalt Vision features the same Stellantis Smart Car platform that underpins the C3, C3 Aircross, and the existing Basalt coupe-SUV. No mechanical changes are on the cards.

New Citroen Basalt Vision Concept: Will it Come to India?

Citroen unveiled this sporty variant of the Basalt Vision for the Brazilian market, and it is too early to comment whether the new version will make its way here. Nevertheless, considering India's growing love for sporty SUVs, such as the Hyundai Creta N Line and the Volkswagen Taigun, the sporty Basalt Vision could be offered in our market, if Citroen plans to introduce it here.
