Most Affordable Electric Car India: The Indian electric car market has grown significantly in the last few years. While the electric powertrain was offered at a premium price point at the early stage, the Battery as a Service (BaaS) option made EVs more affordable and now, electric cars are at par with entry-level petrol cars too. The MG Comet EV was the most affordable electric car in the country till yesterday, but the country now has a new entry-level EV, which is not just more affordable but also provides more range. Let’s take a look at the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift, which has become the most affordable electric car in the country.
2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift Vs MG Comet
While the prices for the MG Comet BaaS (Battery as a Service) version start from Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the newly launched 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift costs Rs 30,000 less, and it is priced at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Moreover, the battery rental for the MG Comet stands at Rs 3.1 per kilometre, whereas Tata is charging only Rs 2.6 per kilometre. Additionally, the MG Comet comes with an 8-year/1,20,000 km warranty, but Tata is offering a lifetime battery warranty on its 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift.

2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift: Design
The brand has made several changes to the design of its electric hatchback offering in the country. It gets new eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs with a new set of headlights. The electric iteration of the hatchback gets a closed, body-coloured grille at the front, while the ICE version features a larger black grille at the front. On the sides, newly added 15-inch alloy wheels are visible, while the rear gets a new taillight setup with three vertical slats on each side and a horizontal line passing above them. The taillight seems to be a connected unit, and the brand’s logo is positioned in the centre.
2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift: Features
The 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift has received several changes in terms of its interior, too. The 2026 Tata Tiago comes equipped with dual free-floating screens, and while one of these is used for the Instrument cluster, the other one works as the infotainment system. The previous-generation model of the electric hatchback used an LCD setup for the instrument cluster. Additionally, the 2026 Tiago facelift will also feature a redesigned dashboard, revised door pads, a new front centre armrest, an I-high beam alert, automatic demist, dual-tone black and grey fabric upholstery, a redesigned central console finished in gloss black, two wireless charging pads, and more. The cabin also gets redesigned AC vents, along with rear AC vents and a two-spoke steering wheel.

2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift: Range & Specs
The Tata Tiago EV retains the same battery pack options offered with the previous generation model. The Medium Range (MR) variant continues to be powered by the 19.2 kWh battery pack, whereas the Long Range (LR) variant is powered by a 24 kWh battery pack. The new 2026 Tiago EV has a claimed range of up to 285 km, and the brand claims a real-world range of up to 215 km, once fully charged. The new-generation Tiago EV supports 30 kW of fast charging, and now it can be topped up for 100 kilometres of range in just 18 minutes of charging. The brand is also offering a lifetime warranty on the battery of the Tata Tiago EV.
