Delhi Old Vehicle Rules: The Delhi Government announced a significant change in the re-registration process of old vehicles in the national capital. Earlier, old vehicle owners were required to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) within 1 year of the expiration of their vehicle’s registration if they wanted to move their vehicle outside the state. However, the government has now changed the rule to provide relief to the old vehicle owners in the National Capital.
No More 1 Year Restriction
The Delhi government has removed the 1-year restriction to apply for an NOC after the expiration of registration of the vehicle. Mind you, owners of petrol vehicles older than 15 years or owners of diesel vehicles older than 10 years were required to apply for an NOC within 1 year after the expiration of the registration. However, the government has removed the restriction, and now they can apply anytime for the NOC.

The NOC & The Issue
As informed earlier, owners of the vehicles with expired registration were required to apply for an NOC within one year. Often, people miss their deadlines, which results in abandoned vehicles on the roads and in the capital. Due to this, many spaces around the national capital were cluttered, and thus, the government decided to change the rule to ease the congestion.
