British luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce has launched the Spectre EV in India at a whopping price tag of Rs 7.5 crore (ex-showroom). The Rolls-Royce Spectre will be the most expensive electric model in the country. This launch has been followed by the delivery of the first unit of the Rolls-Royce Spectre in Chennai in November. 

Rolls-Royce Spectre - Powertrain 

The Rolls-Royce Spectre is powered by a 102kWh battery pack that provides an estimated 530 km of driving range on the WLTP cycle. Charging the battery from 10-80 percent takes 34 minutes with a 195kW charger, while a 50kW DC charger requires 95 minutes.

It is fitted with two electric motors, one on each axle that enables this powertrain to churn a power output of 585 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. Additionally, the Spectre EV boasts an acceleration time of just 4.5 second from 0-100 kmph while weighing 2,890 k

The Spectre shares its foundation with Rolls-Royce's all-aluminium spaceframe architecture known as the Architecture of Luxury. This platform was originally developed in 2003, also serves the current Phantom, Cullinan, and Ghost models. This all-aluminium spaceframe architecture  was purposefully designed keeping electrification in mind. The Rolls-Royce Spectre boasts 30 percent more stiffness than any prior Rolls-Royce, incorporates active suspension and four-wheel steering.

Rolls-Royce Spectre - Interior 

The interior of the Rolls-Royce Spectre is similar to other models from the manufacturer. The Spectre gets a new feature that is the starlight liner incorporated in the door pads. The doors of the Rolls-Royce EV are available with wooden panelling as well. The dashboard panel on the passenger side has the 'Spectre' nameplate illuminated by over 5,500 star-like lights. The cabin features exquisite stitching, embroidery and piping while offering numerous customization options. Additionally, with the Spectre, Rolls-Royce has introduced its new software platform - Spirit for digital control of car functions and connected car technology. Spirit is Rolls-Royce's latest digital interface that provides bespoke services such as changing the colour of the dials to match the interior.
