Upcoming EVs In India in 2024: Electric cars have been seeing significant growth in India due to various reasons. The increasing fuel prices, increasing pollution concerns and the government’s schemes to push for EVs in India have all been a contributing factor for this tremendous growth. Currently, there are multiple manufacturers who are offering EV models in India. Manufacturers like Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, MG, Kia and other premium automobile manufacturers such BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo and many more, have all been actively participating in this ongoing growth. Continuing with this trend, a plethora of EVs are set to be launched in the Indian market in 2024 as well. Therefore, here’s a list of upcoming electric cars set to be introduced in India this year.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India is planning to launch its first-ever electric model in the country, the eVX by the end of 2024. Maruti Suzuki recently showcased the eVX for the second time in the country at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo that took place in Delhi from February 1-3, 2024. The Maruti Suzuki eVX has also been spotted testing ahead of its official launch. Key details about the Maruti Suzuki eVX are not yet known but it is expected to feature a 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will provide a driving range of 550 km.
Tata Curvv EV
Tata Motors is one of the leading players in the EV segment of the automotive landscape in India. It already has four electric models in its lineup in India and is now gearing up to launch more EV models in the upcoming year. The Tata Curvv SUV will be launched in India in both ICE and EV iterations. Specific details about the Curvv EV are not yet known but it is anticipated that Tata will be launching both the models by April in the market.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Harrier SUV is the brand’s flagship SUV currently sold in India and the manufacturer is now planning to launch its EV counterpart to completely grab the electric car market. Tata showcased the Harrier EV at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo and this new electric SUV is anticipated to be launched in the Indian market by June 2024. Specific details about the upcoming EV have not been revealed yet, but like the other electric models from Tata, we can assume that the Harrier EV will be offered in two - Long Range and Medium Range variants.

Mahindra XUV.e8
Mahindra currently retails only the XUV400 model as its sole electric offering in the country. However, the brand has plans to launch several models this year to rival the EV segment leader in India. Mahindra XUV.e8 has been claimed to be the EV counterpart of the Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the XUV700. It is expected that the Mahindra XUV.e8 will be launched in India by the end of 2024.
