South Korean automaker has teased the upcoming MPV Kia Clavis for the very first time in India. The Kia Clavis is set to make its debut on May 8, 2025 and will be based on the Kia Carens MPV, but with more premium features and design. Going by the trend of launches from the brand, the Kia Clavis and Kia Carens will continue to be sold together in the country.

Earlier, the brand launched Kia Syros based on the Kia Sonet compact SUV and both are sold in India together. The Kia Clavis will be a 6/7-seater MPV with many added features and design elements over the Kia Carens, to make it more lucrative premium MPV offering. 

Kia Cravis: Design

The Kia Cravis will get redesigned boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and triple beam LED headlamps as per the teaser image. It will also get a revised front grille with new inserts, new bumpers, and two-tone alloy wheels. At the back will be LED taillights linked by a light bar.

Kia Cravis: Features

Inside, the Kia Cravis will get revised seat upholstery and new trim materials for a more premium look, an instrument console similar to the Seltos and a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Further, it will get a Panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera system, Level 2 ADAS system with features like Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control.

Kia Cravis: Engine and Transmission

As per various media reports, the Kia Cravis will get 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 115 PS and 144 Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 160 PS and 253 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 116 PS and 250 Nm, just like the Kia Carens and Kia Seltos.

The transmission options will a include 6-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed iMT unit, and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Kia Cravis: Pricing

The Kia Cravis will be priced higher than the Kia Carens due to the obvious reasons, with a starting price around Rs 12 lakh and going upto Rs 22 Lakh for the top spec variant.

Kia Cravis: Competition

The Kia Clavis will coexist with the Carens in the brand's domestic lineup, joining cars like the Kia Sonet, Kia Syros, Kia Seltos, Kia Carnival and Kia EV6. Competition wise, it will go against Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindr XUV700.
