Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Launch Date: Volkswagen India is expected to bring the Taigun facelift in early 2026. The upcoming model has been undergoing road trials for over a month now, and recent spy shots, which surfaced a few days ago, reveal what appears to be redesigned front and rear sections. In line with Volkswagen Group's latest design language, the Taigun facelift is expected to carry sleeker LED headlamps with a connected LED strip, drawing inspiration from the new Volkswagen Tiguan.
The front and rear bumpers, along with a tailgate, are also likely to receive design updates. Like the headlamps, taillamp units are expected to be heavily revised; side profile changes seem unlikely on the new model.

Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Features
The latest spy shots of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift did not give a peek into the interior, but expect the new Taigun mid-sized SUV to feature new upholstery and trim options, as well as an ADAS suite and a 360-degree camera for added safety.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift: Engine
Same mechanical components are expected to be carried over from the outgoing iteration. The existing Taigun is equipped with two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre (113bhp) and a 1.5-litre (148bhp). A 6-speed manual transmission is standard. The 6-speed automatic torque converter is available exclusively with a 1.0-litre unit and a 7-speed DCT with a 1.5-litre engine. Market reports suggest that the new 8-speed manual gearbox could replace the existing 6-speed manual unit, which is expected to be locally produced.

Upon launch, the new Taigun will continue to rival the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, and Honda Elevate, as well as face fresh competition in the form of the Renault Duster, which is expected to launch in the coming months.
