Zomato Founder Deepinder Goyal To Make Aeroplane Engines! What Is LAT Aerospace?

LAT Aerospace:  Zomato founder and Eternal CEO Deepinder Goyal announced the launch of LAT Aerospace in January 2025, to transform India’s regional air travel by using the Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) aircraft. However, the startup’s ultra Short Take-Off and Landing (uSTOL) aircraft crashed during its test-flight recently.

What Is LAT Aerospace?

LAT Aerospace is a startup founded by the Eternal CEO and Zomato founder, Deepinder Goyal. Goyal has made it clear that LAT Aerospace is not a part of Eternal, and it is a different company. The startup doesn’t just aim to transform the Indian regional air travel using STOL aircraft; it also aims to provide a faster and more affordable alternative to consumers.

LAT Aircraft Crashed

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal recently shared a video of the first test flight of LAT Aerospace’s LAT One v0.1 prototype aircraft. While the aircraft crashed after take-off due to structural defects, Goyal has marked this as a milestone. In a social media post, Goyal wrote, ‘We knew that the prototype would crash, and our simulations had also suggested the same, due to structural defects. However, the main objective of the flight was to test Ultra Short Take-Off and Landing (uSTOL), which was successful.’
