Bhagalpur Pink Bus: The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) on Saturday announced that 24 new deluxe buses and two pink buses will operate from Bhagalpur district from May 17. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday flagged off 20 pink and 166 deluxe buses for several routes. Earlier in April, CM Nitish Kumar had stated that the state government has been focusing on boosting the transportation and infrastructure of the state to provide convenience to the commuters.

The reports suggest that while the deluxe buses left for Bhagalpur at 1:10 pm, the pink buses left at 4 pm. The authority stated that the buses reached Bhagalpur late at night via Mokama and Munger. It further stated that out of the 24 deluxe buses, 6 buses will be sent to the Jamui bus depot, while 6 buses will be sent to the Munger depot. It further stated that 10 out of 12 buses will operate from Bhagalpur, adding that two buses will operate from Amarpur and Sahebganj via Bhagalpur.

While the timetable of buses going from Bhagalpur to Darbhanga, Jogbani, Saharsa, and other routes has been released, their fares will also be announced soon. The authority further stated that the route for the pink buses has not been finalised yet, adding that the officials are preparing a schedule for such buses. While providing details, the authority stated that the deluxe buses will have comfortable seats, CCTV cameras, water bottle storage facilities, multiple charging points, and facilities to track bus location.

Apart from this, the authority stated that the pink buses will be equipped with all the latest facilities. The pink buses will have GPS and CCTV cameras for security purposes, and there will also be a panic button under each seat. The authority further stated that pressing the panic button will send information to the control room.
