Bihar Assembly Election Result 2025: The wait of people with bated breath for Friday's counting of votes polled in the recent Bihar assembly elections 2025 is set to over as in the next few hours, the Election Commission of India will start the process of announcing results. the Bihar election results 2025 will decide whether JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar, the state's longest-serving chief minister, will get a record fifth term or the Mahagathbandhan CM face will replace him. Counting of votes will begin at 8 am, and the trends and results are likely to start trickling in by 9 am.

A total of 46 counting centres have been enumerated by the Election Commission across 38 districts in the state. A total of 7.45 crore voters were eligible to decide the electoral fate of 2,616 candidates in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025.

According to a statement issued by the EC, EVMs and VVPATs used in the elections have been sealed inside the strong rooms under a double-lock system. "Under the presence of central observers and agents deputed by candidates, the entire process will be videographed," the statement said.

Historic Voter Turnout

Bihar registered a historic voter turnout of 67.13 per cent in the elections to the 243-member assembly in two phases on November 6 and 11.

Elaborate Security Measures In Place For Counting Of Votes

Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the counting of votes polled in the Bihar assembly elections, across 46 centres in 38 districts of the state, officials said.

Schools in Patna will remain closed on Friday in view of the counting exercise. An adequate number of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and personnel of the Bihar Police have been deployed across the state to ensure smooth counting and prevent any untoward incident, a senior officer said.

106 companies of security personnel from outside the state have also been deployed. A poll official said EVMs and VVPATs used in the elections have been sealed inside strong rooms under a double-lock system. A two-tier security has been ensured at the counting centres. While the inner tier has been assigned to the CAPF, state police have been deployed at the outer rung. Besides, 24/7 CCTV surveillance and other security provisions are in place.

Nitish Kumar Will Become CM For 10th Time: NDA

The NDA expressed full confidence that Nitish Kumar will once again become the Chief Minister for the 10th time. BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said, "The people of Bihar have given their mandate, and voters across the state participated with great enthusiasm. The development work carried out by the Bihar government, along with the trust people have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will lead to the NDA forming the government once again with a massive majority. Abki Baar NDA Sarkar!"

He added, "There was no need for re-polling anywhere, and no incidents of violence were reported. This reflects the trust people have in the government. The voter turnout was also significantly higher, and polling was peaceful across the state. This clearly indicates that there will be an NDA government again."

JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, "The people of Bihar no longer want Tejashwi Yadav, who faces several charges. He will continue to lose because the INDIA bloc has suffered under his leadership. The people of Bihar trust the NDA, and they want Nitish Kumar to take charge as Chief Minister for the 10th time.

Tejashwi Yadav Affirms Readiness To "Deal With Unconstitutional Activity"

On the other side, Tejashwi held an online meeting with the party's candidates, party office bearers at the district level, having in-depth discussion was held on guidelines related to vote counting and preparations for the counting process.

Repeating the allegation of alleged electoral malpractice, the RJD leader said that the party, along with the people of Bihar are "alert, vigilant, cautious, and fully capable, aware, and prepared with enthusiasm, hope, and confidence to deal with any kind of improper unconstitutional activity."

"Last night, through a video conference with party candidates and district organization office-bearers, an in-depth discussion was held on guidelines related to vote counting and preparations for the counting process," Tejashwi Yadav posted on X in Hindi.

Talking about being ready to deal with any "unconstitutional activity," the RJD leadear said, "The justice-loving people of Bihar, the birthplace of democracy, and all social and political workers who love Bihar and the Constitution are alert, vigilant, cautious, and fully capable, aware, and prepared with enthusiasm, hope, and confidence to deal with any kind of improper unconstitutional activity."
