Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday reiterated that the state will continue to witness good governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Choudhary made the remarks after offering prayers at the Baba Hariharnath Temple in Sonpur ahead of taking charge of the Home Department.

Speaking to the media, he said he prayed for “Bihar’s continued progress with the blessings of Baba Hariharnath” before assuming his new ministerial responsibilities. Choudhary added that he has “adopted” Sonpur and announced several development plans for the region.

He said the government aims to turn Sonpur into a major town, including the construction of a marine drive, and the full development of the temple complex into a corridor. He added that significant changes will be visible in the next five years, with efforts also underway, along with local MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, to push forward the proposal for an international airport.

Choudhary said the government intends to elevate Sonpur’s status on the world map through comprehensive development initiatives.

However, he declined to comment when questioned about the possibility of implementing a “Yogi model” in the state.
