Bihar Election 2025 LIVE Updates: The Bihar Assembly Election 2025 is just around the corner, with the voting for the crucial polls set to take place in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results for the Bihar elections will be announced on November 14. Ahead of the polls, political parties have started announcing their candidates. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal-United on Wednesday released its first list of 57 candidates, fielding controversial leader and former MLA Anant Singh on the Mokama seat. Senior JD(U) leader Shyam Rajak has been fielded from the Phulwari assembly constituency in Patna district.
This came a day after the BJP announced its first list of 71 candidates, fielding both Bihar Deputy CMs Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Chaudhary from Lakhisarai and Tarapur seats, respectively. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Sunday announced its seat-sharing formula, with bigger allies JD(U) and BJP contesting on 101 seats each, while Chirag Paswan's LJP and Jitan Ram Manjhi's HAM were allotted 29 and 6 seats, respectively.
In the opposition camp, comprising RJD, Congress, and other left parties, a seat-sharing formula is yet to be announced. However, the Communist Party of India (CPI) on Wednesday announced its candidates on six seats, hinting at fissures in the Mahagathbandhan. However, CPI leaders said that they will announce candidates for 8 more seats after getting a nod from the alliance partners. Meanwhile, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Tuesday distributed party tickets to some leaders; however, all tickets were recalled after intervention from Tejashwi Yadav, who cited ongoing talks with the alliance partners regarding seat sharing.
