Bihar Election 2025: The much-hyped Bihar assembly election is scheduled to be conducted in the later months of the year. The incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has not officially commenced the discussion on the seat sharing among the ruling parties yet. However, the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal United (JDU) has reportedly started pondering on the seat selection and the candidates. The JDU is expected to field candidates on around 100 out of 243 seats and is likely to contest on all the seats it contested in 2020 legislative polls.

Bihar Election: These candidates are likley to contest

Apart from the victorious candidates, the ruling party is also considering to field the candidates who secured second position in the last polls. While there is no any official announcement yet, there are several candidates who are almost sure of contesting the polls on JD(U) ticket. The reports suggest that the ruling party is set to field Leshi Singh from Dhamdaha assembly constituency of Purnia district, Madan Sahni from Bahadurpur of Darbhanga, Sunil Kumar from Bhore (SC) of Gopalganj, Jayant Raj from Amarpur of Banka, Umesh Kushwaha from Mahanar, and Shravan Kumar from Nalanda.

Apart from this, Jitendra Kumar from Asthawan, Kaushal Kishore from Rajgir (SC), Narendra Kumar Neeraj from Gopalpur, Rajkumar from Matihani, Damodar Rawat from Jhajja, Siddharth Patel from Vaishali, Ratnesh Sada from Sonvarsha, Bijendra Prasad Yadav from Supaul, Sudhanshu Shekhar from Harlakhi, Meena Kumari from Babubarhi, and Sheela Mandal from Phulparas are also expected to contest the polls.

The reports also suggest that Ranju Geeta from Bajpatti and Narendra Narayan Yadav from Alamnagar, Anant Singh from Mokama, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha from Jagdishpur, Lalit Narayan Mandal from Sultanganj, Santosh Kumar Nirala from Rajpur, Manorama Devi from Belagnj and Dhirendra Pratap Singh from Valmikinagar are also set to receive a ticket from the JD(U).

The JD(U) has been in power for almost two decades in Bihar; however, the party could only secure 43 seats in the last polls, raising questions about the acceptability of party and its chief Nitish Kumar.
