Bihar Election Result 2025: Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj is unable to secure leads in any constituency as of 5:00 pm, according to Bihar election trends on the ECI official website.

According to the latest trends on the Election Commission's website, the NDA was ahead in 202 assembly seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc lagged significantly with leads in just 35 seats, signalling a sharp tilt in favour of the BJP-led coalition.

Within the NDA, the JD(U) was leading in 83 seats and the BJP in 91, with allies LJP (RV) (19) and HAM(S) (5) adding further strength to the front.

As of 5:02 pm, the BJP had secured 12 seats, the Janata Dal (United) 6, the Rashtriya Janata Dal [RJD] 3, and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) 1.

Initially, the party was leading in four seats but gradually fell behind. Its vote share also did not exceed 3–4 per cent. Commenting on this, Jan Suraaj Party spokesperson Pavan K Varma said on Friday that the party would undertake a "serious review" of its performance in the Bihar Assembly elections after early trends showed Prashant Kishor's outfit making little impact despite a grassroots campaign.

His remarks came as the ruling NDA appears to be sweeping the assembly polls.

Here are the main reasons for Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party failing to secure any seats in Bihar:

- Ninety per cent of Bihar’s population is rural, but Jan Suraaj’s campaigning was largely urban and digital. Symbols and candidates were unfamiliar at rural booths, causing vote fragmentation. Online hype did not translate into rural votes. Influencers’ reach was limited, and youth enthusiasm was muted.

- The party could not attract women voters away from the NDA, as government schemes kept them aligned. The NDA secured women’s votes comprehensively. Jan Suraaj’s issues, such as employment and migration, did not resonate, and proposals like ending liquor prohibition were not well received.

- Prashant Kishor’s absence from the field led to a loss of credibility and disappointed supporters and voters, which could be a key reason for the party’s poor performance.

- There was a last-minute rush to form the party’s BLOs, many booths had no representatives, parachute candidates caused local resentment, and several candidates either withdrew or remained inactive.

- Voters viewed it as a wasted vote and preferred to wait for the next election, as the party could not establish credibility.
