The ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which includes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JDU, appears on course for a significant victory in Bihar, leaving the Opposition in disarray. The NDA has surpassed the 200-seat mark in the 243-seat assembly.
The high-profile Karakat seat witnessed a multi-cornered contest, involving Mahabali Singh from JDU, Arun Singh from CPI(ML), and Yogendra Singh from Jan Suraaj.

As per the latest trends on the Election Commission's website, the NDA is leading in 204 assembly seats, while the opposition INDIA bloc is far behind, holding leads in only 33 constituencies, indicating a clear shift in favour of the BJP-led coalition.

Within the NDA, JD(U) is leading in 83 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 92, with its allies LJP (RV) and HAM(S) securing 19 and 5 seats, respectively, strengthening the front.

Jyoti Singh’s decision to contest as an Independent came just days after meeting election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor, although no details of their meeting have been disclosed.

Earlier, Jyoti Singh had accused her husband, Pawan, of infidelity, leading to a public dispute over who would contest. Pawan Singh, who was dropped by the BJP last year due to his controversial image, eventually withdrew from the race, declaring himself a "true soldier" of the BJP.

Voting for the Karakat Assembly seat took place on November 11, alongside other constituencies such as Chenari, Sasaram, Kargahar, Dinara, Nokha, and Dehri in Rohtas district.
