Tejaswhi Yadav News: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, Tejashwi Yadav's supporters are waiting with bated breath for Friday's counting of votes polled in the recent Bihar assembly elections, which will decide whether the Mahagathbandhan's chief minister face will succeed to stop JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar, the state's longest-serving CM, to get a record fifth term.
Tejashwi, who missed the CM post in the Bihar Assembly elections 2020 with a very thin margin, just around 12,968 votes, is hopeful to wrest the power from the Nitish-led NDA. In the last elections, the NDA got 1,58,37,479 votes (37.26%), while the Mahagathbandhan got 1,58,24,511 votes (37.23%).
Tejashwi, the son of two former Bihar chief minister - Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, got the political legacy from his family. The RJD, a former cricketer, entered politics and rapidly rose through the ranks of Bihar's political system, reaching the position of Deputy Chief Minister and later the LoP (Leader of Opposition).
His election campaigned revolved around his tall promise to provide a government job to every family. During the campaign, he stuck with the poll issues such as unemployment and migration. He also continuously emphasised that Nitish has been hijacked by the Bharatiya Janata Party owing to his mental health. He also claimed that the BJP will never make Nish the chief minister if the NDA wins.
