Bihar Exit Polls: As voting for the Bihar Assembly elections came to an end, exit polls have projected a clear majority for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). However, despite the NDA’s strong numbers, Tejashwi Yadav has emerged as the most popular choice among voters for the Chief Minister’s post.

Bihar Exit Polls 2025: Tejashwi Yadav Tops CM Preference

According to the Axis My India exit poll, 34 per cent of respondents prefer Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav for the CM’s post, while 22 per cent continue to back incumbent Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Chirag Paswan received 5 per cent preference, Samrat Chaudhary 2 per cent and another 12 per cent of voters supported a different BJP face. Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishor secured 4 per cent support and 3 per cent preferred a Congress leader.

Bihar Exit Polls: NDA Projected to Win Majority

Despite Tejashwi Yadav’s popularity, the NDA appears poised to secure a comfortable majority in the 243-member Assembly. The Axis My India poll projects the alliance to win between 121 and 141 seats. Among its key allies, the Janata Dal (United) is expected to secure 56- 62 seats, a stronger showing than in the previous election, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may win 50- 56 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) could secure 11- 16 seats and smaller allies like Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) may win between 2 and 4 seats each.

On the opposition side, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is projected to emerge as the single largest party in the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) with 67- 76 seats. The Congress is expected to win 17- 21 seats, while Mukesh Sahni’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) could secure 3- 5 seats. The three Left parties together may gain 10- 14 seats and Jan Suraj, led by Prashant Kishor, is likely to win up to two seats.
