Bihar Exit Polls: RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday dismissed the exit poll projections of the Bihar Assembly election; most of them have predicted a remarkable victory for the Nitish Kumar-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). While addressing a press conference in Patna, the RJD leader stated that the exit poll projections were released before the conclusion of voting for the second phase. He further claimed that the exit poll was released to create a psychological impact on the officials, adding that he does not live in optimism or misunderstanding.

“Yesterday, people stood in long queues during voting, even until six or seven in the evening. People patiently waited to cast their votes. And while voting was still underway, exit polls began to emerge. We neither live in false optimism nor in misunderstanding. These surveys are brought out merely to create a psychological impact, to put pressure on the officials involved in the election process,” Yadav stated while addressing the reporters.

The RJD leader also questioned the methodology of these agencies by asking why the sample size or the criteria of the survey was not made public. “If you ask any of those showing these surveys about the sample size, none of them can tell you. Neither the sample size nor the criteria of the survey have been made public,” Tejashwi Yadav stated.

He further emphasised that the Mahagathbandhan also collected the feedback after the poll was conducted, adding that the alliance will register a historic victory in the polls. “After the election ended, we collected feedback from people, and the information we received has been extremely positive," the RJD leader asserted.

Almost all the key exit polls have predicted a massive victory for the NDA, claiming that the alliance will win anywhere between 130 and 160 out of the total 243 seats. The agencies have also predicted that the opposition alliance will win less than 100 seats, adding that the newly formed Jan Suraaj will not win more than five seats.
