Before the Bihar elections, changes were made in the police administration. Around ten IPS officers from various batches have been transferred across cities in the state. IPS Garima Malik has been appointed the new Inspector General of Police in Patna. IPS officers have also been deployed in Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, Purnia, and Darbhanga.

According to the information, the Home Department issued a notification for the transfer of ten IPS officers on Wednesday.

Garima Malik has been appointed as the Patna IG. Shivdeep Lande has also been appointed as the IG of the Tirhut range.

Responsibilities

Rakesh Rathi has taken command of the IG Headquarters. DIGs have been assigned to Chhapra, Saharsa, Purnia, Darbhanga, and Begusarai.

IPS Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Kosi Area, Saharsa (upgraded to the level of Inspector General) (newly promoted Inspector General of Police). He was appointed Inspector General of Police for the Tirhut area of Muzaffarpur.
IPS Garima Malik previously served as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Crime Investigation Department (upgraded to Inspector General level) (Newly Promoted Inspector General of Police) in Patna. He has now been promoted to Inspector General of Police, Central Zone, Patna.

Previously, IPS Vikas Burman was the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) in Patna. He has been promoted to the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Saran area of Chapra.

IPS Manoj Kumar was in charge of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (Security) Special Branch in Patna. He was assigned to the position of Deputy Inspector General of Police in the Koshi area of Saharsa.

IPS Vikas Kumar has been promoted from Deputy Inspector General of Police, Saran area, Chapra, to Deputy Inspector General of Police, Purnia area, Purnia.

IPS Babu Ram was in charge of the Begusarai area as the Deputy Inspector General of Police. He has been appointed as the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Mithila region of Darbhanga.

IPS Rashid Zaman was previously the Superintendent of Police (G) Special Branch, Patna (upgraded to the rank of Deputy Inspector General) (newly promoted Deputy Inspector General of Police). He has now been assigned as the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Begusarai area.
