In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Bihar Tourism Department will provide dedicated facilities for Shravani Mela devotees traveling from Pahelaja Ghat (Saran district) to Baba Garibnath Temple (Muzaffarpur), mirroring the arrangements made for the famous Shravani pilgrimage route from Sultanganj to Dumra in Jharkhand.

At a review meeting held on Thursday at the Tourism Directorate Auditorium, Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh directed senior officials to ensure comprehensive amenities for the convenience and safety of devotees during the upcoming Shravani Mela.

Key Arrangements Announced:

-German Hangar Tent Cities will be established at key locations:

*A 500-capacity tent city at Pahleja Ghat, equipped with fans, coolers, chairs, tables, CCTV surveillance, and security personnel.

*A waterproof tent city with 1,000-person capacity at RDS College, Muzaffarpur, near Baba Garibnath Temple.

*Additional tent cities for 200 people each in Goraul, Bithauli, and Turkey.

-Each tent city will have a designated incharge, with their contact details, local police helpline, and the number of the central control room in Patna prominently displayed.

-Medical camps, clean drinking water, toilets and bathrooms, uninterrupted power supply, Kanwar stands made of bamboo, and tourist information centers will be available at key points along the pilgrimage route.

-At the Baba Garibnath Temple Tent City, the district administration will organise Bhajan Sandhya evenings for the spiritual and cultural entertainment of Kanwariyas.

-A temporary tourist information center along the yatra path will provide resting space for up to 100 people, further enhancing the pilgrim experience.

The initiative reflects the state’s growing focus on religious tourism and aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and culturally enriching experience for the thousands of devotees expected during the holy month.

Present at the meeting were Nandkishore, Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, and Udayan Mishra, Director of Tourism and Special Secretary.
