The issues of employment and migration, which dominated the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, are now driving major policy action by the new state government. In a significant step toward industrial expansion, work to establish a third major industrial area in Muzaffarpur district, after Bela and Motipur, has begun in Paru at an accelerated pace.

Around 700 acres of land will be acquired for the upcoming Paru industrial zone. A formal requisition has been sent to the Muzaffarpur District Land Acquisition Office, where the proposal is currently under technical review.

A committee will soon determine the Minimum Value Rate (MVR) for the identified land parcels. Once the State Cabinet grants its approval, the Industries Department will initiate the compensation process.

Officials said the type and valuation of land are being assessed, and an expenditure estimate is being prepared. Compensation will then be paid to landowners (raiyats) accordingly, a process expected to take two to three months.

A total of 700 acres is proposed to be acquired across the following villages in Paru:

-250 acres - Chainpur Chiutahan

-95 acres - Bhojpatti

-150 acres - Chaturpatti

-120 acres - Harpur

-85 acres - Vishunpur Saraiya

The village-wise requisition has been issued, and the project will advance if no technical discrepancies are found.

The new industrial area will be developed by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). The site benefits from strong connectivity, located near the under-construction Patna-Bettiah four-lane highway and the upcoming Hajipur-Sugauli railway line. This is expected to ease transportation and attract industrial investment.

Officials indicated that food processing units are likely to be among the first industries established. The government believes the Paru industrial area will boost the local economy, create large-scale employment opportunities, and help curb migration, one of the state’s most pressing challenges.
