In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, police and security forces in Bihar have been placed on high alert. Heightened vigilance has been initiated along the state's international border with Nepal, with intensified patrolling reported in the border districts of West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj.

Additional deployment of security personnel has been carried out, and search operations are underway within a 10 to 12-kilometre radius of the Nepal border. Authorities have launched thorough vehicle checks amid concerns of possible infiltration, and suspects are being closely interrogated.

During one such operation on Wednesday, four Chinese nationals from Hunan province were apprehended at the Motihari border with Nepal. The individuals are currently being interrogated by the Special Branch and Intelligence Agencies, given the sensitive security environment.

Meanwhile, the Police Headquarters has directed all districts to bolster security measures. All police stations have been instructed to routinely inspect hotels, lodges, dharamshalas, and other accommodations, while ensuring proper maintenance of visitor registers.

Security arrangements in districts bordering Bangladesh are also under constant review. The Bihar Police Headquarters is receiving daily reports from the concerned IGs, DIGs, and SPs. The Special Branch remains actively engaged in monitoring border activities and coordinating with local police based on intelligence inputs.
