Kanhaiya Kumar Detained: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar and other party workers were detained by the police during 'Palayan Roko-Naukri Do Yatra' in Patna on Friday. Kumar and senior party leader Sachin Pilot led an agitation amed to gherao Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence in the capital city. Pilot came to Patna to join the yatra against the NDA government.

The police resorted to lathicharge and used water cannon against Congress workers as they attempted to move towards the residence of the chief minister.

"The first attempt has been successful, as migration and employment have emerged as linked issues in Bihar's political discourse. The yatra will continue steadily until real progress is made. For decades, migration has been driven by compulsion-people don’t want to migrate. If you look at the data related to migration, you'll see that the highest numbers are from Uttar Pradesh, followed by Bihar. Congress isn’t even in power, then how can it be blamed? Nitish Ji has ruled for the past 20 years," Kumar said during the protest against the government.

Pilot said through the yatra, Congress wants to attract the attention of the state government towards the real issues.

"We want to attrack people's attention as well to wards the kind of politics being done. This government's indifferent attitude towards youth has been exposed now. Whether it is the Centre or state government, they have completely ignored the youth. Congress party, Rahul Gandhi and our entire organisation are with the youth. We have come here to show that we are standing with the youth in solidarity," he added.
