The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has issued a recruitment notification for 1,799 Sub-Inspector (Daroga) posts in the Bihar Police. The online application process for these Level-6 pay scale positions will begin on September 26, 2025.
Interested candidates can apply through the commission's official website, https://bpssc.bihar.gov.in, until the deadline of October 26, 2025. The commission has stated that each candidate can only submit one application.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a graduation degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025):
- Minimum Age (All categories): 20 years.
- Maximum Age (General, Male): 37 years.
- Maximum Age (All Women; BC/EBC, Male): 40 years.
- Maximum Age (SC/ST): 42 years.
Physical Standards:
- Height (General/BC, Male): Minimum 165 cm.
- Height (EBC, Male): Minimum 160 cm.
- Height (All Women): Minimum 160 cm.
- Weight (All Women): Minimum 48 kg.
The physical standard criteria for third-gender candidates will be the same as those for female candidates of the backward class.
Selection Process
The selection will be conducted in three stages:
Preliminary Written Examination: Qualifying candidates will proceed to the next stage.
Main Written Examination: Candidates who pass this stage will be eligible for the physical test.
Physical Efficiency Test: The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Written Examination.
Main Exam Results For Other Posts Declared
Separately, on Tuesday, the BPSSC also released the results of the main written examinations for three other recruitment drives. The roll numbers of successful candidates are now available on the commission's website. The results declared are for:
- 28 posts of Sub-Inspector Prohibition (Prohibition, Excise and Registration Dept), exam held on August 31.
- 24 posts of Range Officer of Forests (Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dept), exam held on August 24.
- 33 posts of Enforcement Sub-Inspector (Transport Dept), exam held on September 7.
