Bihar Polls: In an attempt to maintain law and order on the counting day of Bihar polls, the district administration of Patna has directed the political parties to not hold any victory procession on November 14. While providing details, District Election Officer and Magistrate Dr Thyagarajan SM stated that the Model Code of Conduct will remain in effect until November 16, adding that strict action will be taken against the miscreants. The authority on Tuesday announced that heavy security will be deployed in the sensitive regions such as Mokama and Danapur. Apart from this, the authority also advised the residents to follow the guidelines on Friday to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the district administration stated that heavy security forces have been deployed inside and outside the counting centers, as well as in all assembly constituencies, to ensure a peaceful vote count. The officials also stated that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code will remain in force in the capital city so that no law and order crisis arises during or after the counting, reported Jagran.Com.

Apart from this, the senior officials have also instructed all sub-divisional officers and sub-divisional police officers to maintain strict vigilance in their respective areas. The officials have been directed to take immediate and harsh action against any rumours or disturbances on the counting day. The officials have also urged the residents to not pay attention to any rumours regarding the election.

The authority also stated that a district control room will be active 24 hours a day to monitor the activities in that region. Apart from this, it also asserted that any information or complaints can be reported on the phone numbers 0612-2219810 and 2219234, adding that the residents can dial 112 in case of emergency. The officials have appealed to everyone to maintain peace, harmony, and a fair environment on counting day.
