Bihar Polls: In a bizarre incident, a Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader tore his 'kurta' apart in front of Bihar's former Chief Minister Rabri Devi's house and accused senior party leaders of bribery after being denied ticket. RJD leader Madan Shah, after being denied a ticket from the Madhuban constituency, broke down in tears and accused senior party leader Sanjay Yadav of demanding Rs 2.7 Crore Rupees. Shah further claimed that the ticket was given to some other candidate after he refused to pay the amount. With just two weeks remaining in the voting for the first phase, the seat-sharing talks in Mahagathbandhan have not been officially finalised yet.

While talking to the reporters in Patna, Shah claimed that the RJD supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav had also promised him a ticket for the 2025 assembly polls. Earlier in the 2020 Assembly election, Shah had contested on the RJD symbol; however, he lost the election by over 2,000 votes. While he expected to get a ticket from the RJD due to the close contest, the Tejashwi Yadav-led party decided to go with some other candidate, leading to frustration among Shah's supporters.

The seat-sharing talks in Mahagathbandhan have not been finalised yet due to high demands from the local parties and tussles between the two big parties, RJD and Congress. The reports suggest that Mukesh Sahni's Vikashseel Insaan Party (VIP) and the left parties are not satisfied with the final equation. Apart from this, the opposition alliance has also not announced Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate, leading to dissatisfaction among the RJD supporters.

Earlier on Saturday, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha announced on Saturday that it will go solo in the state assembly elections and asserted that it will also review the alliance in Jharkhand, further deepening the crisis in the opposition bloc.
