Government departments in Bihar are facing challenges in the mutation of acquired land, affecting projects like Purnia and Bihta airports, as well as AIIMS Patna and Darbhanga. This issue was highlighted during a video conference chaired by Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Land Reforms, Deepak Kumar Singh, with officials from various departments including Airports Authority of India, Railways, Telecom, BIADA, AIIMS, and Danapur Cantt.

The Additional Chief Secretary emphasised the urgent need to complete the mutation process and ensure registration of land details on the Government Land Portal. A dedicated Government Land Mutation Portal has been launched to facilitate online mutation and jamabandi creation for government-owned land. However, proper land acquisition records from the concerned departments are essential for this process.

Representatives from the Airports Authority of India reported that only a portion of the acquired land in Purnia and Bihta has been mutated online. Similarly, Railway officials raised issues regarding mutation delays in Sonpur, Samastipur, and Danapur. Other departments also discussed their challenges with land mutation.

To resolve these delays, the Additional Chief Secretary instructed that fixed dates be set for mutation activities, with relevant departmental officials present along with necessary documentation to complete the mutation and jamabandi creation on-site.

AIIMS officials were directed to coordinate with District Land Acquisition Officers to expedite the process. This initiative aims to streamline land mutation procedures and support timely progress of government projects across Bihar.
