RJD leader and former Deputy Bihar CM on Wednesday doubled down on his allegations against the Election Commission, claiming that it is providing two EPIC numbers to the BJP leaders while the poor voters are being declared dead and their names are being struck off from the electoral roll in the SIR.

During a press conference, Tejashwi held a presentation similar to Rahul Gandhi and explained with the alleged example of Muzaffarpur Mayor Nirmala Devi.

Tejashwi alleged that Nirmala, who is vying for an assembly election ticket, has two EPIC numbers in the same assembly constituency with different age. He further added that Nirmala's two brothers-in-law also have two EPIC numbers.

Tejashwi said, "Muzaffarpur's Mayor, who is a prominent BJP leader, Nirmala Devi... who has not one but two EPIC number IDs in the same assembly constituency... The Election Commission, in collusion with the BJP, is hatching a major conspiracy and to help the BJP during elections, the voters of opposition parties and poor voters are declared dead, their names are struck off, but BJP people are given not one but multiple EPIC numbers."

Tejashwi accused the BJP of colluding with the poll body to win the elections in the past. He said, "The Election Commission is stealing votes on the orders of the BJP. People think it's some kind of magic that the BJP and PM Modi keep winning elections, no matter the state. But the reality is, they are stealing votes. And now, when things are coming to light, they have nothing to say. The Election Commission never even held a press conference..."

He said that in 2020 assembly elections, the RJD was defeated on 10 seats by a margin of 12,000 votes alleging irreglarities. He added, "In the Chandigarh Mayor election, they were caught despite CCTV, so the Election Commission removed the CCTV altogether. The people of the country understand everything... The Election Commission is only supporting the BJP. It is reducing the votes of the opposition and creating two EPIC numbers for BJP people in a single assembly constituency..."
