To address the ongoing challenges faced by teachers seeking inter-district transfers, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken direct initiative. Sharing updates on his official X handle on Thursday, he announced that clear instructions have been issued to the Education Department to streamline the process.
As per the new guidelines, teachers seeking transfers will now be allowed to choose three preferred districts. Their postings will be facilitated accordingly. Additionally, the responsibility for intra-district placements has been delegated to committees led by the respective District Magistrates, ensuring that teachers can be posted in their desired or nearby blocks.

CM Kumar emphasised that he personally reviewed the matter and urged teachers not to worry. “Teachers are crucial for shaping the future of Bihar's children. I request them to continue their work with dedication,” he stated.
Following the CM’s announcement, the Education Department clarified that all regular teachers are eligible for inter-district mutual transfer. Special teachers and librarians who have passed the competency exam can also apply. This includes school teachers, headmasters, and head teachers appointed through all phases of the TRE, provided their teacher IDs are updated on the e-Shikshakosh portal.
Teachers are advised to ensure that their previous salary has been fully updated on HRMS. Without this, there could be issues in transferring their records to the new district. Applications for transfers will be accepted through the e-Shikshakosh portal.
