Bihar News: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly, has accused the state government of neglecting the health infrastructure, leading to severe consequences. In a lengthy post on X (formerly Twitter), the senior RJD leader claimed that a specially abled patient's toes were bitten by rats while he was sleeping in Patna's Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH). He further alleged that in a similar incident in the same hospital, a deceased person's eye was bitten by a rat a few days back. The former deputy chief minister stated that the NDA government has spoiled the infrastructure that he had tried to build while he was in charge of the health ministry.
"A disabled patient admitted in Patna's (NMCH) Nalanda Medical College Hospital was in deep sleep when his toes were bitten by a rat. In the same hospital, a few days ago, a deceased person's eye was bitten by a rat but no action has been taken against anyone till now," Yadav stated in his post on X. He further claimed that Health Minister Mangal Pandey has not been focusing on the health infrastructure, further claiming that he has intentions of becoming the chief minister of the state.

"Health Minister Mangal Pandey has again ruined the health system that we had improved by working day and night during our 17-month tenure. Now the health department is again on the path of ruin," he stated. Yadav also took a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar by stating that the "unconscious" CM will be shown a false PPT related to the case, and he will praise his government for the development works even after not knowing the reality.

"The department that cannot even ensure cleanliness and security in its hospitals, where a healthy man falls ill, how will it treat the patients? The unconscious Chief Minister will be shown a presentation and told that the fingers of the patient were not bitten by a rat but by a robotic machine worth crores during his operation. Then the CM will say that all this used to happen before 2005?" Yadav stated in his post in Hindi.
