Commuters travelling from various railway stations in the district to Patna have received a significant boost with the railway board's announcement of a new fast passenger train between Buxar and Patna. The train's timing is particularly convenient for office-goers.
Key Details of the New Train Between Buxar And Patna
- Departure Time: 6:30 AM from Buxar
- Arrival Time: 9:10 AM at Patna Junction
- Travel Time: 2 hours and 40 minutes
- Distance: Approximately 118 kilometres
This train is expected to ease the commute for thousands of passengers travelling between these two cities.
Buxar-Patna New Fast Train: Key Features Of Service
- Departure and Arrival Timings: The train will depart from Patna Junction at 5:45 PM and reach Buxar at 8:35 PM, covering the distance in just 2 hours and 50 minutes. In the morning, it will depart from Buxar at 6:30 AM and reach Patna Junction at 9:10 AM, taking 2 hours and 40 minutes.
- Frequency: The train will operate six days a week, except Sundays, catering to the needs of daily commuters.
- Stops: The train will halt at seven stations: Dumraon, Raghunathpur, Bihiya, Ara, Kulharia, Bihta, and Danapur.
- Speed: The train will have an average speed of 41 km/h in the up direction (Buxar to Patna) and 44 km/h in the down direction (Patna to Buxar).

A Game-Changer For Office-Goers
The introduction of this train service is expected to be a game-changer for office-goers who commute daily between Buxar and Patna. Currently, passengers have limited options, with the only available train being the 53262 Buxar-Fatuha Passenger, which departs from Buxar at 4:45 AM and reaches Patna at 8:55 AM. This often forces commuters to travel without proper tickets in long-distance express trains.
