Polling has begun in all eight assembly constituencies of Bihar's Vaishali district for the assembly elections. Meanwhile, in the Bhagwanpur block of the Lalganj assembly constituency, a 44-year-old voter named Kedar Prasad arrived to cast his vote riding a buffalo.
He cast his vote at polling station number 323 in the Ratanpura Panchayat of the block. As he traveled to vote, about half a dozen women were also walking with him.
The women were seen singing the song, "Chal vote girawe bhaiya..." (Come brother, let's go cast our vote...). During his buffalo ride, Kedar Prasad held a stick in one hand and his voter identification card in the other.
He was also appealing to people to come out and vote. While raising awareness, he said, "Voting is your right, do not let it go to waste. Everyone should go to vote first, and only then do any other work." He told people that whatever ride they have, they should take it and go to vote without delay.
When asked why he chose a buffalo for his ride, he said, "The buffalo is the most accessible ride for me. When people see my ride, they will surely come to me out of curiosity. Then I can easily ask them to go and vote and make them aware. My aim is to cast my own vote and also to make other people aware. This is why the women walking with me have also left all their work to go and cast their votes. This is the great festival of democracy, and we are all celebrating it with great enthusiasm."
