A video showing dancers performing obscene acts on Bhojpuri songs during a Holi Milan event at a government office in Bihar’s Saran district irked senior officials. The incident took place at the Gadkha block office after the video went viral on social media. Following the video's circulation, local authorities took immediate action, leading to the registration of an FIR.
The event was reportedly organised by Harendra Mahato, husband of Gadkha block chief Renu Devi. In the footage, Mahato and other attendees were seen dancing to explicit songs alongside female performers. The presence of several block-level officials and BDC members further intensified the controversy.
The video shows attendees making obscene gestures towards the dancers, calling them over, and offering money. Mahato himself is allegedly seen engaging in inappropriate acts with the performers. The footage has triggered widespread criticism, with social media users condemning the incident.
On the directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kumar Ashish, Gadkha Police Station registered an FIR (Case No.-183/25) against those responsible for organising the event. The case includes charges for conducting an obscene performance using a DJ without a proper loudspeaker license. Authorities are now preparing to take further action against the accused.
In response to the viral video, District Magistrate (DM) Aman Sameer has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Laxman Tiwari has been tasked with investigating the matter and submitting a report. The directive has created unease among block office employees and officials as scrutiny intensifies.
