Bihar Weather Update: The weather has taken a severe turn across the state in recent days. Today is expected to be particularly hot and humid. A yellow alert has been issued for a heatwave in Gopalganj and East Champaran districts.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Patna, weather conditions are likely to change starting tomorrow, June 11. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds are expected in the southern and northeastern parts of the state.

Meanwhile, an orange alert has been issued for the north-central and northwestern regions, warning of thunderstorms and rainfall, along with winds reaching speeds of 50–60 km/h.

During this period, a change in wind direction is expected to bring relief, as moist easterly winds may help normalise the weather. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some areas.

In Patna and nearby regions, the weather is likely to remain stable with a cloudy sky, influenced by the easterly winds. On Monday, the weather across the state, including Patna, remained dry, but the rising temperatures left people struggling to cope with the intense heat.

On Monday, Patna's maximum temperature rose by 3.2 degrees Celcius, reaching 40.3 degrees Celcius. The hottest location in the state was Dehri, where the temperature peaked at 42.4 degrees Celcius.

In the capital, wind speeds were recorded at 22 km/h. Across most parts of the state, maximum temperatures increased by 1 to 3 degrees.

With the exception of Chhapra, all districts, including Patna, experienced a rise in maximum temperatures. According to the Meteorological Centre in Patna, this increase is attributed to dry westerly winds, which have led to a sustained rise in temperatures across the state.
