Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday stated that several districts are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that along with rainfall, these districts are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. It emphasised that the rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius, providing major relief from the scorching heat. The weather department has advised the residents of these districts to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that multiple districts, including West Champaran, Bhagalpur, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Gopalganj, and Siwan, are likely to witness rainfall in the next two to three days. It further stated that these districts will also witness winds at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour. The IMD stated that while the rainfall is likely to benefit the crops, it further advised the farmers to not hide behind any large tree or electricity pole.

The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and rain in many districts of North Bihar on Monday. However, there is no hope of relief from heat in most parts of South Bihar till Tuesday. The weather department stated that some parts of North and South Bihar are likely to receive rainfall from June 18.

It further stated that the southern part of the state is likely to get relief from the heat after June 18, adding that the maximum temperature of the state may drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius from June 19.

The weather department also stated that several other states, including West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, are also likely to receive light to heavy rainfall. While the coastal regions are likely to witness heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds, the other parts are likely to expect light rain.
